Does Claude speak Russian?

Yes, natively. Write your prompt in Russian and Claude answers in Russian: no plugin, no special version, no translation layer in between. Calling them all scams would be unfair. They solve real problems:

• No regional workarounds to set up.
• Often several models in one window: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini.

But the convenience has a price, and you should see it clearly before paying:

• Markup. The middleman buys access at the official price and resells it higher, or trims your limits. You pay more for less.
• Your data. Conversations pass through a third-party server. What happens to them next is governed by that site's honesty, not by Anthropic's policies.
• No model guarantee. Nothing proves the answers come from Claude, or from the current version, rather than something cheaper behind the label.
• No official support. The service can change terms or vanish, and there is no one to turn to.

A separate case is buying a "ready-made" Claude account from a reseller. It is registered to someone else's email and payment method, so you never fully control it and can lose it at any moment.

• Pro: $20 per month, or $17 per month if you pay for a year upfront.

Getting official access from Russia

Russia is not on Anthropic's list of supported countries. So official access takes two things: a way around the regional restriction and a foreign bank card for the subscription.

How to tell a middleman from the official site

Three simple markers:

1. The domain. There are two official domains: claude.ai (the chat) and claude.com (Anthropic's site with pricing). Everything else, however polished it looks, is an intermediary.
2. Ruble payments for "Claude". Anthropic does not accept Russian cards. If a site does, there is a layer between you and Claude.
3. "No VPN, no signup" promises. Not a crime by itself, but a clear marker: you are working through someone else's account or API key.

A middleman is not always a bad choice. The bad part is thinking you are paying Anthropic while actually paying someone unknown, and finding out only when the service disappears along with your chat history.
