Beginner Intermediate Advanced - the barrier to entry, not the difficulty of the task

Beginner level

No terminal needed. A browser is enough.

These skills live right in claude.ai: sign up and you're working. Nothing to install.

01 · Claude Projects Beginner

Isolated workspaces with a knowledge base loaded in: documents, brand books, past reports.

Example. You load all your marketing strategy files into a "Product Launch" project - and Claude writes posts that nail the tone and context without you re-explaining the task every time.

02 · Artifacts for prototyping Beginner

A separate rendering pane for instantly building dashboards, landing pages, calculators, or diagrams right in the browser.

Example. You ask "Build me an ROI calculator for a client" - and a finished interactive tool appears in the pane next to the chat, ready to test and send off right away.

03 · Custom Instructions Beginner

Global profile instructions - write them once and Claude applies them in every chat by default.

Example. One switch changes the role: from "Business Analyst" with access to CRM data to "Creative Director" for generating ad ideas.

04 · Voice control Beginner

07 · Agentic loops Intermediate

Claude finds information, checks its own work, and fixes mistakes across several iterations - without you lifting a finger.

Example. You ask "Find 10 competitors in this niche and put together a price comparison table" - Claude searches, analyzes, and delivers the finished table on its own.

Advanced level

Terminal + config files. Maximum power.

Claude plugs directly into your tools and gets things done without a browser. Some of it takes 10 minutes to set up, some is a bit trickier.

08 · MCP servers Advanced

An open protocol that connects Claude directly to your tools: Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, databases. No copy-paste.

Example. Claude goes into your Google Calendar, finds the open slots, and sends a client the invite for a call. By itself, without you.

09 · Claude Code (CLI) Advanced

Managing files and running tasks from the terminal, skipping the browser entirely. For those ready for the command line.

Example. You say "Scan the landing page folder and fix every broken link" - Claude Code rewrites the files on its own in a few seconds.

10 · Hooks - automated checks Advanced

Automatic checks Claude runs before publishing changes. Catches errors before they ever reach production.

Example. When you try to update a script on your site, Claude automatically checks it for errors and won't let you publish a version that could take the page down.
